How do I get the 100,000 Avios?

If you have an existing Barclays account that you upgrade to a Premier account you can still get the 100,000 Avios bonus. The only difference is the sign-up bonus for activating Barclays Avios Rewards is reduced to 2,500 Avios from 25,000 Avios.

Barclaycard Avios Plus Mastercard (£20 a month)

This card has a representative APR of 72.4% variable based on a £20 monthly fee and an illustrative £1,200 credit limit. The APR on purchases is 23.9% variable.

Premier Banking with Barclays Avios Rewards

Barclays Premier doesn’t have any real tangible benefits on its own but combined with Barclays Avios Rewards (£12 a month) you will get…

• You receive 1,500 Avios per month
• You receive a cabin upgrade voucher after 12 months. You can read the T&Cs of the Upgrade Voucher here.

The great thing about it is there is NO spending requirement for these benefits (other than the monthly fee of course.) In total every year you will get 18,000 Avios and a cabin upgrade voucher for an outlay of £144 which isn’t too bad! In addition to this, you will get £5 back into your current account every month you pay the fee for the Barclaycard Avios Plus AND Barclays Avios Rewards.

To join Barclays Premier Banking for free, you will need an income of £75,000+ OR at least £100,000 saved or invested with Barclays. Otherwise, there is a monthly fee of £20.

What can I do with 100,000 Avios?

An awful lot! At a bare minimum, the 100,000 Avios are worth £800 converted into Nectar Points. If you used it for flights you could fly off-peak return in business class to New York, Doha or Dubai to name a few examples.
