How Many Avios Will I Earn A Year Through Credit Card Spend?

If you’ve been looking into point collecting and in particular Avios you might be wondering how many Avios you can earn in a year via your credit card. After all, you don’t want to spend 5 years collecting for a return flight to Europe right? In this post, we are going to take a look at how many Avios you can realistically earn in a year with your spending levels…

So how many Avios can I earn?

The amount you earn will obviously vary depending on which card you use, any special offers on your spending, and how much you spend. Below we are going to take a look at what someone who spends £50, £100, £200, £250 or £500 a week could earn. All the cards below are featured on our how to choose the best Avios credit card post. If the card doesn’t earn Avios directly we have assumed you will convert the point type you earn into Avios. The amounts below also assume that all your spending is on ‘general’ items and not eligible for any bonuses.

This is my experience using the points system and is not a recommendation of any financial product. There are other credit cards which can earn you travel points including the Miles & More Credit Card & Virgin Atlantic credit card. If you use one of my referral links to an American Express card upon you being accepted I will receive points, this varies between 9,000 – 18,000 depending on the card I refer you from.
