Our Review Of The Hilton London Heathrow T4

As my partner and I had a late night arrival at Heathrow T3 we decided to stay overnight in the Hilton London Heathrow T4. As our plans changed at the last minute we only booked a few nights in advance. Rather than paying the vastly inflated cash rate of around £300 we paid 60,000 Hilton Points for our one-night stay.

Getting to the Hilton London Heathrow T4

If you are already in Heathrow T4 just follow the signs for hotels on the departure level. As we landed in Heathrow T3 we took the Elizabeth Line one stop to T4 (view other options here, Train transfers between terminals are free.) Once inside the terminal on the Departure level, we followed the signs for the Hilton which leads you down a covered walkway to the hotel. Down the same walkway is the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4, Crowne Plaza and the Premier Inn, the Hilton London Heathrow T4 is the furthest away and around a 7-minute walk.

Hilton London Heathrow T4 - Reception

As you enter the Hotel you’ll notice the vast atrium that contains the public space of the hotel. Straight in front of you as you enter is the Reception, behind this the restaurant (where breakfast is served) and a bar area. To the right is the Executive Lounge and to the left is access to rooms on the ground floor (where we were staying.) We arrived at around 11:15 pm and were checked in quickly as well as given two drink vouchers to use the OXBO bar.

The Room

Hilton London Heathrow T4 - Numbers

We booked a King Guestroom but despite the hotel not being full we didn’t receive any form of upgrade as Diamond members. Our room was located on the ground floor to the side of the hotel. As you walk down the corridor to your room you’ll probably notice the airport-style dot matrix indicators for room numbers which were pretty cool!

As you walk into the room you’ll see the bathroom almost immediately on the right. On the left is a control for the air conditioning and, in keeping with the airport theme, a dot matrix map of Europe. Beneath this is a freestanding unit where you find your tea/coffee-making facilities.

Beyond this is a corner desk with a TV, a small mirror, and a desk chair. At the back of the room is a window. There (expectedly) isn’t really a view as the room backs onto the ring road but thankfully the soundproofing is excellent and we didn’t hear a peep.

In the space to the right is a small table and chair, the bed, bedside cabinets and thankfully plugs to charge our devices.

Although the room was very small and with no real storage options it was fine for a quick overnighter. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and we were given late checkout until 2pm upon request.

The Bathroom

The bathroom was pretty small but it was clean and very modern. On the left is the sink/mirror with Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. On the right is a small toilet. Directly in front of you is a shower with a handheld unit and a rainforest head on the ceiling. The pressure and temperature of the shower was good although it would have been nicer if the rainforest head was larger.

Breakfast

As we are Diamond members we got breakfast included for free with our stay. Breakfast is served in the OXBO restaurant on the ground floor. It was rather busy when we went for breakfast and took a few minutes to be seated. There was a good selection for an airport hotel including things such as cereals, pastries, yogurts, fruit, and hot items such as baked beans, bacon, scrambled egg, and sausages. As I saw they had gluten-free cornflake packets already out I didn’t bother enquiring about any other options.

Other facilities

There is an executive lounge located to the right of the reception (whilst we had access as Diamond members we didn’t use it.) Behind/to the left of reception is the OXBO cafe/bar and then behind this with views over the lake is the OXBO restaurant. The hotel also has a gym and a business centre but sadly it no longer has a pool.

Hilton London Heathrow T4 Conclusion

Airport Hotels are never going to win prizes as far as rooms or breakfast are concerned but we were impressed with the Hilton London Heathrow T4. Although the basic room is small I probably had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time in the bed and the breakfast was probably the best Airport hotel breakfast I’ve had. This coinciding with its location (a short covered walk from Heathrow T4) means it’s a great option when needing to stay overnight at Heathrow! Rooms are available from around £120 or 34,000 points.
