Decent Hilton Cashback/Points Deal Launched

Amex has just recently launched a new Hilton Cashback/Points offer on some of their cards. We’ve seen two variations of the offer 1) You can get £50 back on £200+ spent on select European Hilton hotels. 2) You can get 9,000 membership reward points back on £200+ spent on select European Hilton hotels. If you are targeted you will find the offer under your offers page in the App or on the website. Make sure you check all your cards as you might find it appears on one but not others.

How do I get the Cashback/Points from my next stay?

First of all, you need to register for the offer on your American Express card in the app or on the website. Once registered you need to spend £200 at a participating Hilton hotel by the 22nd of December. The rules confirm that cumulative spending counts so this doesn’t need to be in one transaction.

Existing bookings are covered (as long as you haven’t paid already!) there is no need to rebook.

Hilton currently has an offer running until the 31st of December called ‘Multiply Your Points.’ With it, you will receive double or triple base points on all stays. If you booked a hotel for £200 you’d receive £50 cashback (or 9,000 membership reward points) under the offer and as a Diamond member, you’d receive 9,800 base points (double under the ‘Double Up & Explore’ offer,) which we’d value at £49 at 3X properties you’d get 14,700 points which we would value at £73.50 (see how to value your own points here.) This combined with the £50 cashback equals an impressive rebate of over 50% on your spending! If you have the points offer and value membership reward points at 1p, 9,000 points would equal £90 and move the needle even further in your favour.

Conclusion

Consider whether the cashback/points means it makes sense to move an existing stay to Hilton, particularly with the addition of the bonus points if you stay before the 22nd of December.
