What BA Boarding Group Will I Be In?
Fed up with always being the last to board the plane? Would you rather be one of the first so you can get your hand luggage stowed and settle into your seat? Take a look at our guide to what BA Boarding group you’ll be in below!
What BA Boarding Group Will I Be In?
BA introduced boarding groups to ‘simplify the boarding process and reduce ‘congestion’ at the gate a few years ago. Depending on your ticket type or status you will be allocated a group number between 1 – 5. Group 1 board first and then the process gradually makes its way through the remaining groups.
Customers with additional needs will be boarded before the groups below. These include families with infants under two and young children in pushchairs as well as customers requiring disability or mobility assistance.
Group | Short-haul | Long-haul |
1 | Executive Club Gold, Oneworld Emerald, and Business Class passengers | Executive Club Gold, Oneworld Emerald, and First Class passengers |
2 | Executive Club Silver and Oneworld Sapphire | Executive Club Silver, Oneworld Sapphire, and Business Class passengers |
3 | Executive Club Bronze and Oneworld Ruby | Executive Club Bronze, Oneworld Ruby, and Premium Economy passengers |
4 | Economy Passengers | Economy Passengers |
5 | Hand Luggage Only Fare Passengers | Economy Passengers |
If you are flying together as a group but have different boarding groups you can see the gate agent to board together. Which group you all board in will be down to the discretion of the gate agent.
Conclusion
As you can how soon you board your flight purely depends on your ticket or status level! Do you like to board first? Or would you rather be the last one on the plane?
