Excellent £100 Marriott Cashback Launched On Various Amex Cards

Marriott has just launched two excellent £100 Marriott Cashback offers on some Amex cards. You can get £100 back on £300+ (£250+ on the Marriott Bonvoy Amex) spent at select European Marriott hotels. If you are targeted you will find the offer under your offers page in the App or on the website. Make sure you check all your cards as you might find it appears on one but not others.

How do I get the £100 Marriott Cashback off my next stay?

First of all, you need to register for the offer on your American Express card in the app or on the website. Once registered you need to spend £300 (or £250+ on the Marriott Bonvoy Amex) at a participating Marriott hotel by the 31st of December.

Key things to remember…

Cumulative spending counts so this doesn’t need to be in one transaction.

Whilst the rules say that payment must be made at the hotel as the individual Marriott hotels process prepaid rates themselves a prepaid booking would still trigger the cashback.

The rules also state that transactions must be made in GBP. Ignore this as it simply isn’t possible to pay with GBP outside the UK using an Amex card as they banned Dynamic Currency Conversion (where retailers would let you choose between paying in local currency or GBP (with an awful conversion rate.)

Existing bookings are covered (as long as you haven’t paid already!) there is no need to re-book.

Marriott currently has an offer running until the 6th of December where you will earn 1,500 bonus Marriott points per stay and 3,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points for every three brands you stay at during the promotional period. This offer is only valid on cash stays.

Consider whether the £100 cashback means it makes sense to move an existing stay to Marriott, particularly with the addition of the bonus points if you stay before the 6th of December.
