The Biggest-Ever American Express Business Card Bonus Is Back

American Express has relaunched the largest sign-up bonus ever seen in the UK.

• 120,000 Membership Rewards points are on offer with The American Express Business Platinum Card.
• 60,000 Membership Rewards points are on offer with The American Express Business Gold Card (free for the first year).

Both bonuses are available until 14th October 2025.

How the bonuses work

• Business Platinum – Spend £12,000 in your first three months to receive 120,000 Membership Rewards points.
• Business Gold – Spend £6,000 in your first three months to receive 60,000 Membership Rewards points.

Unlike the 2023 deal, these bonuses are now paid in full after meeting the spend target – you don’t need to keep the card into a second year.

What are the points worth?

Membership Rewards points are flexible and transfer to 1:1 with both Avios and Virgin Points.

That means:

• 120,000 MR points = 120,000 Avios / Virgin Points, or:
  • 360,000 Radisson Rewards points
  • 240,000 Hilton Honors points
  • 180,000 Marriott Bonvoy points
  • £600 in vouchers (Amazon, M&S, etc.)
  • £540 statement credit
  • 160,000 Nectar points (worth £800)
• 60,000 MR points = 60,000 Avios / Virgin Points, or half of the above options.

Who qualifies?

You can apply if you are a sole trader, partnership, or limited company and:

• Have a UK bank or building society account
• Are aged 18 or over
• Have a permanent UK home address

Income requirements:

• £20,000+ for Business Gold
• £35,000+ for Business Platinum

Importantly, you qualify for the bonus even if you currently hold, or recently held, other Amex cards. The old 24-month restrictions on sign-up bonuses do not apply to Business Cards. It was removed last year.

Annual fees

• Business Gold – £195 annually, first year free.
• Business Platinum – £650 annually, with benefits including £200 annual Amex Travel credit, Priority Pass lounge access, hotel status upgrades, and more.

All Amex fees are pro-rata refundable if you cancel.
