Amex Launch £300 Indeed Credit On The Amex Business Platinum

Amex has just launched a new benefit for cardholders of the Amex Business Platinum. Effective immediately (and once opted in) cardholders will receive £300 Indeed credit per year to spend with the online recruitment site.

How does the £300 Indeed Credit work?

The £300 Indeed credit comes in the form of quarterly £75 statement credits (based on the calendar year.) The offer is currently scheduled to run to the end of 2026 with the first quarter in the offer ending the 30th of September 2023.

You need to register for the offer under ‘offers’ on your Amex Business Platinum (you only need to do this once.) After you’ve done this you will receive a statement credit for 100% of the money you spend at Indeed with your Amex Business Platinum up to the quarterly cap of £75. Your cap isn’t rolled over quarter to quarter if you don’t spend it you lose it.

What other benefits does the Amex Business Platinum have?

If you are eligible for the sign-up (to be eligible you can’t of had a personal or business Amex which earns membership reward points in the last 13 months) you’ll get 40,000 membership reward points for spending £6,000 within three months. These can be converted into 40,000 Avios, 60,000 Marriott points, or 80,000 Hilton points for example…

Annual £200 travel credit. This statement credit can be used against any travel (flights/hotels) booked through Amex Travel. The spend needs to be in one transaction (and a minimum of £200.) Unfortunately, if you use it against a hotel booking, it will need to be pre-paid and therefore will not qualify for elite status benefits or hotel loyalty points.

£150 Dell credit. This statement credit is split into 2 payments of £75 with the first credit running January – June and the second July – December. This credit is valid for anything bought from the Dell site with no minimum spend. We normally use it for some mouses to flog on eBay…

You will get 2 free Priority Pass memberships, one with the main Business Platinum card and one with your first FREE Business Platinum supplementary cardholder. These are valid at any airport lounge in the Priority Pass network. Each card can bring in one FREE guest, each additional guest will cost you £20. You can view what airport lounges accept Priority Pass here – https://www.prioritypass.com/

For as long as you hold the card you will also receive elevated status in various hotel programs. Gold in Hilton Honors, Gold in Marriott Bonvoy, Gold in Radisson Rewards & Gold in MeliaRewards. We talk about what benefit these statuses have here – https://pointsuncovered.com/hotels/free-hotel-elite-status-from-uk-credit-cards/

Full travel insurance: You receive travel insurance for yourself and your family as long as you are under 80. You can insure other people and their families by giving them supplementary cards on your account. Read the insurance coverage in full here – https://www.americanexpress.com/content/dam/amex/uk/legal/business/the-american-express-platinum-business-charge-card-insurance.pdf

You receive a free digital subscription to The Times and The Sunday Times.  This is worth over £300 and a great saving if you already pay for this (or similar and are willing to make a switch!)

You receive £150 or equivalent cashback when you book a onefinestay home rental. There aren’t any ‘cheap’ properties on onefinestay so we don’t really rate this benefit but you can use it as many times as you want and may work out OK for short stays.

You have access to the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts Programme.  This gives you additional benefits when booking select luxury hotels including guaranteed 4pm check-out, free breakfast, an upgrade if available at check-in, and typically a $100 credit towards on-property spending.

Conclusion

If you use Indeed this credit is obviously a bonus however for many small businesses (such as ourselves) the credit has zero value as we have never nor have we ever planned to use Indeed. Thankfully, nothing is being taken away/substituted for this benefit so at least no one will be worse off!
