Virgin Redemptions Sale

Get 30% Off Virgin Redemptions In ALL CLASSES!

Virgin Atlantic/Virgin Red has just launched a 30% off flight redemptions sale in all classes to select destinations until the end of May. This is a genuine sale as unlike the ‘rebate’ offer last year you don’t need the full Virgin points to make a booking to receive some back later. You need to book by 28th February to take advantage of the sale with all travel completed by the end of May.

What destinations are included in the 30% Off Virgin Redemptions?

The following destinations are included (from London, pricing based on Upper Class (business class) off-return.)

  • Antigua (80,500 points)
  • Atlanta (66,400 points)
  • Austin (94,500 points)
  • Boston (66,400 points)
  • Islamabad (52,500 points)
  • Lahore (52,500 points, route ends 30th April)
  • Los Angeles (94,500 points)
  • Miami (66,400 points)
  • Mumbai (52,500 points)
  • New York (66,400 points)
  • San Francisco (94,500 points)
  • Seattle (94,500 points)
  • Tampa (66,400 points)
  • Tel Aviv (39,200 points)
  • Washington DC (66,400 points)

If you are flying from Manchester you have only one option…

  • New York (66,500 points)

As there hasn’t been any additional reward availability added for the sale you may find some flights without any availability as they’ve already been on sale for almost a year. Don’t forget Virgin Atlantic now guarantees two seats in Upper Class, two seats in Premium Economy & eight seats in Economy albeit these are released when flights are loaded.

Can I use a 2-4-1/upgrade voucher from my Virgin Atlantic credit card on the Virgin Redemptions sale?

Yes. You can use a 2-4-1 voucher from your Virgin Atlantic credit card on the sale getting 30% off the Virgin Points required but the full ‘taxes + fees’ are due for both passengers.

For example, flying to New York (off-peak) with the sale and a 2-4-1 voucher in Upper Class would cost you…

66,400 Virgin Points + approx £1,990 in ‘taxes & fees’ for two.

Likewise, you can use an upgrade voucher from your Virgin Atlantic credit card on the sale getting 30% off the Virgin Points required but still paying the full ‘taxes & fees’.

For example, upgrading a flight to New York from Premium Economy to Upper Class with the sale and using your upgrade voucher would cost you…

24,400 Virgin Points (your original cost before upgrading) + approx £995 in ‘taxes & fees’ in total (£500 more than the £495 ‘taxes & fees’ for Premium Economy)

Similarly, upgrades (without a voucher) are also included…

Upgrading a flight to New York from Premium Economy to Upper Class with the sale would cost you…

24,400 Virgin Points (your original cost before upgrading) + 33,180 Virgin points & approx £995 in ‘taxes & fees’ in total (£500 more than the £495 ‘taxes & fees’ for Premium Economy)

Anything else to note?

Unfortunately for Gold members, the sale does not apply to their ‘open any seat on any flight for double points’ offer.

Conclusion

If you are looking to make a flight booking to one of the 15 included destinations before the end of May be sure to check out Virgin Atlantic. While the surcharges aren’t discounted if you value Virgin points at 1p the 30% off sale can be worth up to around £400. Don’t forget you must book before the 28th of February to take advantage of the sale.
