O2 Or Virgin Media Customer? Get FREE Lounge Access If Your Flight Is Delayed

A few years ago O2 launched an interesting offer for those using their network and signed up for O2 priority (you can also do this as a Virgin Media Broadband customer) called Priority Smart Delay. The scheme allows you and up to three friends/family members free lounge access when your flight is delayed 60 minutes or more.

Who can use Priority Smart Delay for FREE Lounge Access?

Any O2 or Virgin Media Broadband customer who has signed up for O2 priority. You can use this offer ONCE a month (outbound & return included.)

How do I sign up for the FREE Lounge Access offer?

Whether you are an O2 customer or Virgin Media Broadband the process is identical. You will need to download the O2 priority app (if you haven’t already.) Login/Register as applicable. Then either search for Smart Delay or browser under ‘Offers’ > ‘Out & About.’ Here you will find the option to register your flight.

How does it work?

You can register your flight up to the actual departure time of your flight (so there is no benefit to registering early.) Once registered, if there is a qualifying flight delay (60 minutes+), O2 will send you an email with your complimentary airport lounge access vouchers. Experience from other O2 customers suggests that if you register a flight that is already delayed 60 minutes+ your vouchers come through instantly.

Not an O2 customer/Don’t have access to O2 priority for FREE Lounge Access?

The easiest way to get access to O2 priority is to get an O2 sim card. You will need your phone to be unlocked to do this…

  1. Order a FREE sim either directly from O2 or through a cashback website such as Topcashback.
  2. Once the SIM card comes put it in your phone (or any unlocked phone!)
  3. Register an account with O2 and activate the SIM.
  4. Top up the SIM by £10
  5. Download the O2 Priority app & sign in using your details.
  6. Turn off the phone and put your normal SIM back in!
  7. Enjoy O2 Priority!
  8. Use the SIM at least once everything 6 months to keep it active e.g. send a text (otherwise, the SIM will be cancelled and you will lose any credit.)

Conclusion

If you are an O2/Virgin Media Broadband customer Priority Smart Delay is a useful perk to be aware of. You can read more about the offer on O2’s website here – https://o2priority.smartdelay.com/
