You Can FINALLY Transfer Marriott Points Online To Another Account!

Have you ever wanted to transfer Marriott points to a partner, family or friend only to be put off by needing to ring Marriott? Well, thankfully Marriott has (FINALLY!) launched a tool that will finally allow you to transfer Marriott points online to another account!

Can I Transfer my Marriott Points Online To Another Account?

Providing you meet the following criteria/limitations you can transfer points…

• You can “…transfer up to a maximum of 100,000 Points per calendar year to another Membership Account as long as both Accounts are in good standing and have each been open for at least sixty (60) days.”
• If you have rewards activity in your account such as a qualifying stay or other points-earning activity you will be able to transfer points after 30 days.
• You can receive up to a maximum of 500,000 Points per calendar year from other Membership Accounts.

How can I transfer Marriott Points Online to another account?

Visit the ‘Transfer Points‘ page on Marriott’s website and log in if required. You will then need to fill in the recipient’s First Name, Last Name & Marriott Bonvoy Member Number as well as how many Marriott Points you wish to transfer. You can transfer any amount of Marriott points between 1,000 & 100,000 in blocks of 1,000 Marriott points.

When does transferring points to another Marriott account make sense?

• Elite benefits. It makes sense to make a redemption from the account with the highest elite status to get the best benefits.
• Bigger redemptions. You can pool points together from multiple accounts to make bigger redemptions.
• Points expiring. If you/a friend has points expiring that can be used by the other person before the expiry date.

Conclusion

Being able to make a transfer online is a long-overdue improvement to the Marriott Bonvoy program.
