What is the value of 5000 Hilton points?

We have a slightly more generous valuation of Hilton points compared to other blogs because we base our valuation on our Avios valuation. We value Avios at 1p which transfers 1:1 from American Express Membership Reward Points, Hilton points transfer 1 membership reward point to 2 Hilton points. This means we value our Hilton points at 0.5p and won’t transfer across for lower value redemptions.

If you take our valuation of 0.5p a point you are in effect paying £25 a night at 5000 Hilton points.

Is it worth buying Hilton points?

Sometimes… We have an article on is it worth buying Hilton Points? But the key thing here is to compare the price you are purchasing the points at compared to the cash rate of the hotel you want to stay in.

If you buy from Hilton without a sale or special offer the price is $10 per 1,000 Hilton points (around £7.10.) which means you are paying roughly 0.71p a point. You can purchase them here – https://www.hilton.com/en/hilton-honors/guest/purchase-points/ – occasionally Hilton runs offers on purchasing points which will decrease the cost per point. At the moment there is a 100% bonus running which means you’d be getting 0.355p a point.

Conclusion

Have you ever stayed in any hotels that are 5000 Hilton Points a night? If so, what was your favourite?
