Can A Child Join BA Executive Club?

If your child or children fly with you frequently you might be wondering can a child join BA executive club? After all, you want to collect as many Avios as possible, right? Whilst children (under 18) can’t join BA Executive Club by themselves there is a workaround. Read on to find out more!

How can A Child Join BA Executive Club?

Thankfully there is no need to miss out on Avios/Tier Points for your child when they are flying. To create an account for them you, first of all, need a Household Account. You can read more about Household accounts here – https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb/executive-club/household-accounts – the key things to remember about creating a Household account are…

1. Members of a Household Account cannot redeem their Avios for anyone outside of the Household Account (or the six people on your Friends & Family list)
2. A Household account allows anyone in the household to make a redemption for themselves or anyone else in the account (if they are over 18)
3. When redeeming Avios are taken from each person’s balance as a percentage of the total household balance.

Once you’ve logged into your BA Executive Club go to Manage, Click My Executive Club. On the left side, click Manage my account and then select My Household Account. Select Manage my Household Account, here you have the option to add a new member. Unlike joining the BA Executive normally, the application won’t be rejected if the member is under 18. You will need an email address for your child when signing up! (You could create a free one that forwards to your email.)
