Can I add more bags?

Yes if you go into Manage your booking on the British Airways website you will be able to pay to add additional baggage. What about if I’m a Silver Executive Club member?

If you are a Gold Executive Club member, you and everyone travelling with you can take one extra suitcase on top of the standard allowance mentioned earlier when travelling in Economy only. Each suitcase can weigh up to 32kg (rather than the normal 23kg.) This benefit is not available on hand baggage only fares, your status does not get you any additional allowance.

The same rule applies to oneworld Sapphire cardholders flying on British Airways.

What about if I’m a Gold Executive Club member?

If you are a Gold Executive Club member, you and everyone travelling with you can take one extra suitcase on top of the standard allowance mentioned earlier. Each suitcase can weigh up to 32kg (rather than the normal 23kg.) This is valid on all ticket types except hand baggage only fares, your status does not get you any additional allowance.

What are the rules if I change planes?

If a journey with connections includes BA and other airline codes, you’ll enjoy the most significant airline’s allowance. This is usually the one operating the longest flight. So for example…

If you fly mixed class e.g. Manchester to London in Economy then London to Male in Business Class you’d get the most significant sectors allowance. This means you’d get the Business Class allowance on both flights.

If you have a stopover (e.g. you stopped overnight on the above journey) you no longer get the most significant sector allowance. You get the allowance for the class you are travelling in on both flights. Economy allowance on the first flight and Business Class allowance on the second.

Conclusion

As you can see for the most part the British Airways Baggage Allowance is quite simple to understand!
