NEW! Earn Avios With Uber (Plus 250 Avios Just For Registering!)

British Airways has this morning announced a new partnership with Uber. This partnership will allow you to earn Avios with Uber on your car, coach or train travel booked via the Uber app. Even if you are a casual Uber user it’s worth signing up just for the 250 Avios sign-up bonus…

When can I earn Avios With Uber?

The offer isn’t live yet (which you might have seen if you saw the partnership and checked in your app!) BA has stated that all members will be able to collect Avios through the Uber app by the end of the month. So make sure you check your app store for any updates.

How do I register to earn Avios with Uber?

To register, you will need to enter your Executive Club details into the Settings section of the Uber app. This feature is not currently available and will be launched towards the end of the month.

How many Avios will I earn with Uber?

The new Uber deal will see you earn 1 Avios per £1 spent on travel via the Uber app. This includes coach and train travel booked via the Uber app in addition to Uber taxis.

In addition to this, you will earn 250 Avios if you link your British Airways Executive Club and Uber accounts via the Uber app by 31st December.

Andrew Brem, General Manager at Uber UK said: “We’re thrilled to be able to help Uber users collect Avios on every single journey they take. So everyday trips, such as going to work or to the shops is helping you to get somewhere a little more exotic with British Airways”.

Please note…

This is my experience using the points system and is not a recommendation of any financial product. There are other credit cards that can earn you travel points including the Tesco Credit Cards (by exchanging Clubcard points for Virgin Points, hotel stays and more) & the Virgin Atlantic credit card. If you use my link for a referral to an American Express card upon you being accepted I will receive points, this varies between 9,000 – 18,000 depending on the card I refer you from

If you value Avios at 1p it means you’d be receiving 1% back on your spend. Combine this with an Avios earning card such as the BA Premium Plus Amex or the Barclaycard Avios Plus and you’d receive an extra 1.5 Avios per £1 meaning a return of 2.5%, assuming again you value Avios at 1p.

Conclusion

This new partnership is a win-win for most customers. If you regularly use Uber you can collect extra Avios on the spend you’d be making anyway if not you can at least get 250 Avios just for linking your BA & Uber account. What do you think of BA’s partnership with Uber?
