How To Use Your Avios Converted Into Nectar Points For M&S Vouchers

Yes, you read that correctly! There is a little-known quirk of the Nectar scheme that will allow you to use your Nectar points for M&S vouchers. This is great as an additional option if you wanted to convert out any of your Avios. Read on to find out how to do it!

How do I convert my Avios into Nectar points?

If you want to convert your Avios into Nectar points you can see our article on it here – https://pointsuncovered.com/avios/how-to-link-your-avios-nectar-accounts/

How do I convert my Nectar Points into M&S Vouchers?

For some reason, M&S isn’t a partner listed on the Nectar website. Instead, if you want to convert your Nectar Points into M&S vouchers you need to join the MyMail scheme. The MyMail scheme is FREE to join and offers points with every Daily Mail/Mail on Sunday newspaper you buy. You simply input the unique code printed on the back page into the MyMail website.

You won’t earn a life-changing amount of Nectar points from this. If you bought the newspaper every day you’d earn 35 Nectar points per week (22 Avios.) If you are an online subscriber to The Mail+ you’d receive 150 Nectar points per month (94 Avios).

The interesting (and somewhat bizarre) bit of the scheme is that it allows you to convert Nectar points into M&S vouchers. These don’t have to be ones that you’ve earned from MyMail but can be from your normal Nectar points stash. You can see the M&S offer page – https://www.mymail.co.uk/catalogue/reward/editorsPick/2551

What value will I get exchanging my Nectar Points For M&S Vouchers?

The rate is 1,000 Nectar points for a £5 voucher, which is the standard 0.5p per Nectar point redemption rate. This means if you converted your Avios into Nectar points you’d be getting 0.8p worth of value per Avios point.

Things to note…

There are three key things to note when redeeming your Nectar points for M&S Vouchers…

  1. You can only redeem for £5 vouchers. So for a £100 shop, you’d need the shop assistant to scan 20 vouchers!
  2. You can’t use the vouchers for food purchases but they are valid both instore and online.
  3. Once you’ve converted your Nectar points into M&S vouchers there is no way back… Whereas Nectar points keep their flexibility to be redeemed at different stores or converted into Avios points.
