What cards have the Amex Referral Bonuses been increased on?

If you have one of the following cards you should of had an email over the last few days with details but in case you didn’t here are the details…

American Express Preferred Rewards Gold Credit Card

The referral bonus has been increased to 12,000 membership reward points and the sign-up bonus increased to 32,000 points if they meet the sign-up bonus criteria.

The Platinum Card

The referral bonus has been increased to 24,000 membership reward points and the sign-up bonus increased to 50,000 points if they meet the sign-up bonus criteria.

British Airways American Express Credit Card

The referral bonus has been increased to 6,000 Avios points and the sign-up bonus increased to 9,000 points if they meet the sign-up bonus criteria.

British Airways American Express Premium Plus Credit Card

The referral bonus has been increased to 12,000 Avios points and the sign-up bonus increased to 30,000 points if they meet the sign-up bonus criteria.

Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card

The referral bonus has been increased to £30 and the sign-up bonus increased to £20 cashback if they meet the sign-up bonus criteria.

Platinum Cashback Credit Card

The referral bonus has been increased to £40 and the sign-up bonus increased to £35 cashback if they meet the sign-up bonus criteria.

Remember the referral bonus is the one you will get if you have the card and are referring from it. The sign-up bonus is the one your friend will get if they choose that card and meet the sign-up bonus eligibility requirements.

There are no bonus offers running on referrals from the business cards at the moment.

When can I get the increased Amex Referral bonus until?

These offers are running until the 12th of May 2021. For clarity, your friend/family members need to apply and have been accepted by the 12th of May to get the bonus. Otherwise, you’d both receive the standard offer instead of the boosted one.

FAQ…

• If my friend isn’t eligible for the sign-up bonus or doesn’t meet the spend target will I still get a referral bonus?
  Yes, as long as your friend uses your link and is approved you will still get a referral bonus.
  
• What if my friend is already a supplementary cardholder? Will they still get the bonus? Will I still get my referral bonus?
  If they meet the sign-up bonus eligibility requirements, yes. Having a supplementary card does not affect this in any way and you will also still get your referral bonus as long as they use your link and are approved.
  
• My friend wants a different card from the one I have… Can they apply for a different one and if so, will we both get our bonuses?
  Yes, they can select from the majority of cards in Amex’s portfolio by clicking view our other cards after following a referral link. You will get the relevant bonus for the card you referred from and they will get the one relevant to the card they choose as long as they meet the sign-up bonus eligibility requirements.
