Register For Marriott’s Spring 2022 Promotion

Marriott has recently launched its first promotion for 2022 offering double elite night credits (on qualifying stays) and 1,000 Marriott points per night. It’s a particularly attractive prospect for those looking to gain or renew Marriott Bonvoy status.

What are the details of Marriott’s Spring 2022 Promotion?

The promotion runs from 8th February – 4th May with registration closing on the 20th of April. You will need to register in advance of your stays (you can do so here.) Existing bookings count and there is no minimum stay requirement.

Unfortunately, reward nights aren’t eligible for the double elite night credits or 1,000 bonus Marriott points per night. Nor are stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott International, Marriott Executive Apartments, and Marriott Vacation Club.

What sort of return am I getting on my stays?

If you value Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.66p like us you’d be recieving an extra £6.60 return on each night of your stay. (work out how to value your points here.) This in addition to the normal 10 points per US$1 spent on eligible hotel charges (if you have status you will recieve slightly more.) Clearly the maths here only really works on cheaper stays as the bonus points are a fixed amount.

The real value here is if you are looking to obtain or renew elite status…

Marriott Platinum Elite is the real sweet spot in the program as it comes with decent upgrades (includes select suites), a 4pm check-out (not at resort hotels), lounge access, free breakfast, and the annual choice benefit (the most valuable of which is the 5 suite night awards.) To get this is normally quite difficult as it requires 50 nights per year in Marriott Hotels. Unless you holiday or travel for business a lot it would be a challenging task! With the promotion this is halved to 25 nights required within the promotion dates. Whilst still a challenge if you can fit in a few stays during this period you could be well on your way to Platinum Elite by the start of May.

Don’t forget that if you have the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card you receive 15 elite night credits each year. If you include these it means you’d only need 18 nights under this promotion to reach Platinum Elite status.

Conclusion

Whilst the promotion isn’t the most generous when it comes to bonus points it is extremely beneficial for those looking to renew/gain Marriott status, particularly if you hold the Marriott Bonvoy American Express card.
