American Express has recently launched another £100 freebie for Amex Platinum Cardholders due to the perceived lack of benefits due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and lack of travel options (which most people use the card for.)
Tell me more about the £100 freebie for Amex Platinum Cardholders
Like last time you don’t get ‘£100 cash’ but a 100% rebate on up to £100. This can be used at any combination of the stores listed below. Just to be clear, it’s up to £100 cumulative over all the stores listed below. This will appear as a statement credit back on your spend NOT £100 at each store. The options aren’t the same as when the offer was last run. Selfridges & John Lewis have been added whereas Apple & Marks & Spencers has been removed from the retailers you get a rebate at.
- Selfridges
- Waitrose & Partners
- John Lewis
- Deliveroo
- Harvey Nichols

No, you have to save the offer to your card in the same way you would save any other American Express offer. Log in, scroll down until you see the offer and click ‘Save To Card.’
Are my supplementary cardholders eligible?
Unfortunately not. This offer is just for the primary cardholders.
Will new applicants be eligible?
I’m not sure at the moment. As time goes on I’m sure we will hear if any new cardholders get the £100 rebate.
This is my experience using the points system and is not a recommendation of any financial product. There are other credit cards which can earn you travel points including IHG credit card, Tesco Credit Cards (by exchanging Clubcard points for avios, hotel stays and more) & Virgin Atlantic credit card. If you use one of my referral links to an American Express card upon you being accepted I will receive points, this varies between 9,000 – 18,000 depending on the card I refer you from.
