Have an American Express Platinum card? Get a £100 freebie.

American Express has started to roll up some compensation deals for holders of the American Express Platinum Card due to the perceived lack of benefits due to COVID-19.

What do I get?

Not £100 cash unfortunately but a 100% rebate on up to £100 at any combination of the following stores. Just to be clear, it’s up to £100 cumulative over all the stores listed below as a statement credit back on your spend NOT £100 at each store.

Are there any restrictions?

There are a few but nothing too restrictive, fortunately. If any of the below doesn’t take your fancy you can buy a Waitrose gift card which you can use at John Lewis both online and instore.

• Department store concessions and outlets are not included in the offer.
• M&S exclusions: Bank and Energy services, Bureau de change, Opticians and Petrol stations. 
• Waitrose & Partners exclusions: Cellar, Florist, Garden, Pet, Cookery school, foreign currency, Gift Section.
• Harvey Nichols exclusions: International delivery, gift cards, vouchers and dining within restaurant.
• Apple exclusions: Apple iTunes, Apps and Apple Music, Apple Search Ads, Apple Finance and Gift Cards.

Do I get it automatically?

No, you have to save the offer to your card in the same way you would save any other American Express offer. Scroll down until you see the offer and click ‘Save To Card.’

Are my supplementary cardholders eligible?

Unfortunately not. This offer is just for the primary cardholders.

Will new applicants be eligible?

I’m not sure at the moment. As time goes on I’m sure we will hear if any new cardholders get the £100 rebate or if it’s just limited to existing cardholders.
